Little Nightmares Sales

Little Nightmares Sales Just Hit 1 Million

Little Nightmares Sales have now reached 1 million. The game initially launched back on April 28, 2017 bringing eerie puzzle platforming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Over a year later, the game was ported to the Nintendo Switch as well. Sales across all platforms, both physical and digital, are included in this grand total of 1 million copies sold worldwide.

Published by Bandai Namco and developed by Tarsier Studios, Little Nightmares has done well for itself. Especially considering that this was the studio’s debut solo game, a fact that Andreas Johnsson (CEO at Tarsier Studios) readily acknowledges in the official press release:

“We’re very proud that our first original game sold so well, it’s well beyond what we ever expected. Little Nightmares is after all part of an indie game landscape, and the fact that one million players have played our game is wonderful. This achievement is a milestone for both Tarsier Studios and Little Nightmares.”

Additionally, this eerie adventure has been generally well received, earning a Metacritic score of 79.

In Little Nightmares, you play as a small child traversing an environment filled with giant and horrific humanoid monsters. In terms of setting and style, the game forces you into a vulnerable state. Not only are you dealing with the intimidating and scary sights/sounds of the ship you’re navigating, known as The Maw, you’re also an extremely underpowered character.

Gameplay wise you have the ability to run, jump, and interact with specific objects. But your movements are slow, you’re weak, and you lack in stature. You can expect a series of environmental puzzles, boss like vignettes, and chase sequences from the hours you’ll spend with Little Nightmares. The relatively short campaign can be padded with the DLC that was released for the title. Better yet, if you haven’t joined the one million players who’ve purchased Little Nightmares you can purchase the complete edition that includes the three part DLC Secrets Of The Maw.
