V Rising Version 1.0 Will Include Some of Players’ Darkest Dreams

Last week, V Rising reached a total of one million sales despite being released into Early Access on Steam less than two weeks ago. Having had time to regroup, developer Stunlock Studios has now explained what players can expect in the short- and long-term future, and the full release of the game will “include some of your darkest dreams”.

What V Rising players can expect in the future

In the short-term, Stunlock will be fixing bugs, optimizing the game’s servers, and adding balance changes and quality of life improvements to V Rising. Before making any long-term decisions, though, the developer will be looking at player feedback from the first weeks of Early Access so they can “nail the master plan moving forward.” The team will not be issuing multiple and frequent smaller patches with minor changes,  working on “more extensive updates” instead. The first of these content updates will “bring something new” to the game and it “will be worth waiting for.”

Stunlock already has new content in the works. This includes more weapons, loot, magic, and ways to customize your castle. There will also be new areas to explore and V Blood bosses that will come with their own challenges. However, by focusing on player feedback they will be able to “include some of your darkest dreams of what the experience can look like at the full release”. Something “very special” is promised for when the game finally reaches version 1.0. For now, though, don’t be surprised if you don’t hear anything from Stunlock for a little while as they’re “taking one step back to be able to leap forward, regrouping so we can move into the next leg of our journey with unshakable intent”.

In other news, the Nintendo Switch Online 7-day trial has returned to the eShop and is even available for players who have activated a trial before. Elsewhere, Activision Blizzard shareholders have been urged not to re-elect directors like Bobby Kotick who failed to address the company’s sexual harassment crisis.
