Chargeasap Zeus 280W

Chargeasap Zeus 280W USB-C GaN Charger Review

With modern tech becoming more and more power-hungry, and users becoming more and more expectant of fast charging speeds, it’s products like the Chargeasap Zeus 280 W GaN Charger that promise to keep up with the demand. It promises a lot, but can it keep up with my testing in the real world?

For power-hungry tech

The Zeus 280 W isn’t your normal charger, as it offers several features that set it apart from the pack. In terms of I/O, you’re looking at three USB-C ports and a single USB-A port, which can pump out up to 280 W total. The ideal scenario for this charger is when multiple users want to power their high-powered devices, but there are limited outlets available. For example, my wife and I both wanted to charge our high-powered laptops, but there was only one outlet available at the train station, so I was able to plug in the Zeus.

Unique charging capabilities

Let’s get into the specifics of what each of the Zeus’ ports can do. Two of the three USB-C ports can output 140 W, while the other USB-C port can deliver up to 100 W. The remaining USB-A is able to output up to 65 W. That’s a whole lot of capability for what is a relatively small device. Thankfully, temps are kept in check due to the GaN technology, a modern marvel in the world of charging. It can still get a little warm, but it’s far from concerning.

It’s got an OLED

The Zeus’ OLED screen makes it easy to monitor the voltage and wattage for each port, so you can see exactly how much power a device is pulling. This gives you peace of mind when plugging in a new device and wanting to confirm that it’s receiving the required amount.

Portability is a key focus for the Zeus, as it’s clearly intended to be the ultimate travel companion with its small size and foldable prongs. It also comes with multiple international adapters in the box, eliminating one potential headache for the user.

No cables included

My only negative for the Zeus 280 W charger is that it doesn’t come with any cables in the box. Considering the premium price tag, it would have been nice for Chargeasap to include some compatible wires in the packaging. For users expecting the full package, you may come away a tad disappointed.

I should also mention Chargeasap’s reputation as a company, as there has been some controversy surrounding its Kickstarter campaigns. While I’ve been very happy with the Zeus charger review sample, I can only hope that all backers and buyers enjoy the same experience.

Final Verdict

At $219.99, the Chargeasap Zeus 280 W GaN Charger is a premium solution offering a high-power, versatile charging solution designed for those with multiple devices and on-the-go needs. With its compact design, advanced charging capabilities, and helpful OLED display, it meets many demands for efficient charging. Though lacking included cables and carrying an undeniably high price, it’s a strong option for those seeking reliability and power in a travel-friendly form.
