Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Spoilers: Everything we know so far

The Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series should be here sooner rather than later, and as such impatient fans are eager to learn of any spoilers, leaks, and plot points that have been unveiled regarding the upcoming show. As per usual, Disney remains secretive when it comes to its plans for the show, though there’s a number of ways the story can go that have already been outlined across other Star Wars media. Here’s what we know about Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi so far.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Spoilers: Story leaks so far

Obi-Wan Kenobi leaks have pointed to several major moments that could potentially take place in the film. President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy has previously stated that the series will feature “the rematch of the century,” with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader set to lock horns once again.

According to a report from Making Star Wars, Kenobi and Vader will meet again as a result of a rescue mission undertaken by the Jedi Master. After Kenobi is tasked with saving a mysterious prisoner from an Inquisitor, Darth Vader leaves Mustafar in his TIE Advanced and confronts his former friend. This marks the first time Kenobi has seen Anakin in the full Darth Vader suit, though the report states he recognizes his old Padawan immediately.

Apparently, the location for the fight could either be Jedha or Tatooine, with the first attack made by Kenobi who force pushes Vader away. The fight will apparently be massive in scale, so more in line with Episode 3’s lengthy battle than the pair’s tense but swift confrontation in A New Hope.

How much is Hayden Christensen in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Hayden Christensen looks set to have a pretty prominent role in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, if the leaks are to be believed. For starters, he will reportedly appear in the suit, even if he isn’t inside it for the fight sequences. If he’s in the suit, then there could be a moment similar to his battle with Ahsoka in Star Wars Rebels, where his former Padawan struck his helmet and revealed a portion of his face. That, or we get a full reveal of a helmet-less Vader with Christensen in the suit.

Disney’s take on Star Wars has notably avoided the prequels, though recent shows are changing that. The Book of Boba Fett recently featured clips taken from Episode 2, showing a young Boba mourning the loss of Jango Fett and also showing Kamino. The Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to take this even further, with Hayden finally brought back into the fold to reprise his role as Vader.

Will Black Krrsantan be in Kenobi?

In the Disney Plus series, Obi-Wan Kenobi (played again by Ewan McGregor) is watching over a young Luke Skywalker 10 years after the events of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. Luke is living on Tatooine with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, with Kenobi also in hiding on the sand planet a decade after Order 66 was issued and the remaining Jedi are now hunted.

Disney hasn’t officially revealed much more than that, but Kenobi’s story has already been partially told by way of various Star Wars comics. One such potential plot point has now been teased in The Book of Boba Fett, with episode 2 introducing the terrifying Wookiee bounty hunter Black Krrsantan. This dark-haired and fearsome killer appears in the Star Wars comics to track down Kenobi, after the Jedi Master takes down some of Jabba the Hutt’s goons. Hired by Jabba to kill Kenobi, the Wookiee could have quite easily done just that, if not for him aiming to take Kenobi to Jabba alive. Uncle Owen saves the day, though, barging the bounty hunter and giving Kenobi the opportunity to fight back — but by doing so, he reveals his Jedi identity by using his Force powers to save Uncle Owen from falling over a cliff to his death, and his lightsaber to defeat Krrsantan.

It’s unclear if the Kenobi series will follow this route, though there are some indicators that it won’t follow this exact story. For one, Kenobi notably leaves a scar over Krrsantan’s eye in the comics, which isn’t seen in The Book of Boba Fett. Considering that series takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi, he should still have the scar by that point, so it seems that Kenobi won’t leave the same impact on the Wookiee if the two do duel it out.

Will Liam Neeson’s Qui-Gon Jinn be in Kenobi?

Qui-Gon Jinn is absolutely a part of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s canonical story after the events of Revenge of the Sith, with Kenobi’s former Master appearing as a Force ghost to guide his former Padawan from beyond the grave. Considering that both Obi-Wan and Yoda appear as Force ghosts quite liberally throughout the Star Wars series, Qui-Gon not showing up again over the course of the prequels was always questionable.

Qui-Gon has appeared as a Force ghost in the Clone Wars, and it seems reasonable to suggest that he could aid Obi-Wan spiritually while he is holed up in the desert. Liam Neeson has claimed that he hasn’t been approached by Disney, but he would say that, wouldn’t he?
