Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart New Game Plus

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s endgame is the best thing about it

Upon completing Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart for the first time, I learned a valuable lesson: I should have rushed through the main missions and made a beeline directly to the end. Beating the game as soon as possible would have unlocked Challenge Mode earlier, which is where the game fully realizes its potential.

Why Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s Challenge Mode is the best thing about it

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart New Game Plus

Complete Ratchet and Clank to unlock the Challenge Mode, a New Game Plus option that doubles the maximum weapon level cap for each weapon and introduces a Bolt Multiplier booster that rewards cautious gameplay.

While players are free to enjoy the new Ratchet and Clank game in any manner they choose, those hunting for 100% or the Platinum Trophy will want to speed through the Campaign. Side content and collectibles can wait for the second playthrough when weapons can be made more powerful and money rewards are multiplied by up to 20 times.

Challenge Mode’s Bolt Multiplier is a great risk and reward tool. Players who kill enemies without getting hit gradually increase the multiplier. This goes all the way up to 20. Those who are super careful will find themselves earning tens of thousands of bolts per encounter.

A nice supply of Bolts is key to unlocking all of the weapons and buying their outrageously expensive Omega variants. (Oh, and those Omega variants are only available in Challenge Mode, so that’s yet another reason to rush through to unlock it.)

Though Challenge Mode may sound difficult, players are still free to choose whatever difficulty they want, so don’t let the name put you off.
