How many hours do you spend playing video games per week? | Tell GR

It’s time to confess. We all live busy lives, but then we also all love video games. So how much of our spare time is devoted to playing them?

We want to know how many hours per week you spend playing video games. There’s no judgment here — if you’re plowing through 8 hours a day on World of Warcraft, we want to know.

Share your shame in the comments section below, and we’ll feature our favorite response in tomorrow’s Tell GR:

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: “I’d say between 10–15 hours. As Game Revolution’s editors and writers often take on the new and upcoming games, I mainly play a few hours of multiplayer games with friends. As of late, I always manage to sneak in a few hours of Rocket League or League of Legends.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I usually play at least 10-20 hours a week. It really depends on what I’ve got on my plate as far as work. If I’ve got a big game to review, I might play as much as 60 hours in one week. If it’s a slow week and I’m feeling a bit burnt out on gaming I may just play 5-10 hours. I’ve usually always got a playthrough of something going on though.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “I play for a good 10-15 each week, on average. Though, if there’s a game to review or produce guides on, the number of hours can escalate to 30-40+. The Nintendo Switch’s portable mode and sleep functionality helps me squeeze in some extra hours before bed, which is nice.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “It depends but probably somewhere from 20 to 40 hours. If I’m sucked into a game and my obsessive nature is on full tilt, then I’m going to be clocking 40 or more. If the slate is dry or I have a lot to write, I’ll probably use my time to watch movies or do other things but still clock on a few hours because of my MK11 FOMO.”
