Best of 2015 Awards: Best Soundtrack

Winner: Crypt of the NecroDancer

Just listen to Crypteque, the theme for zone 1-2 of Crypt of the Necrodancer. Yeah, nearly every song in the game’s soundtrack has the same ghoulishly retro goodness. Composer Danny Baranowsky deserves all the extra coins and hearts in crafting a soundtrack that fits perfectly with the rhythm-based roguelike while having that driving, pulsating beat.

It’s one of the few soundtracks that you can listen to in the car without needing the game behind it and fits right alongside the likes of Shovel Knight for retro compositions. Better yet, each song has multiple versions for replayability and you can customize any level song you want with the entire stage moving at your chosen song’s BPM. What more could you want?

Nominees: Undertale, Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Life Is Strange, Crypt of the Necrodancer, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
