Team Bondi Shuttering, Merging with Fellow Australian Studio

Last weekend ended with a whisper, among the desolate masses, lost, lonely, left in the dark. Someone knew something, but no one knew anything. Searching for the answers, asking all the wrong questions, we kept our lips shut. It was all anyone could do.

Today, however, it's confirmed by an anonymous source that Team Bondi, the developers of L.A. Noire, will be selling off their assets and merging with Kennedy Miller Mitchell, an Australian developer currently rumored to be working on a Mad Max game. Develop reports:

Game IP and other remaining assets owned by Sydney studio Team Bondi have been sold off.

Team Bondi staff members back from vacation have been offered an opportunity at the new development studio or a severance package.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, several disgruntled staff members who left during L.A. Noire's lengthy development cycle and left out of L.A. Noire's end credits currently work at KMM. That'll be an awkward day when Brendan McNamara walks through the doors of the new studio, should he be joining KMM as well.

Rockstar Games will retain rights to L.A. Noire while Depth Analysis, the company behind the facial motion capture technology used in the crime caper, will be unaffected by this merger.
