Sony Ships 3.3 Million PS4s in 3 Months, Vita Continues to Struggle

PlayStation 4 continues to dominate the console market, moving 3.3 million units during the three month span between July and September.

On the handheld front, however, things aren't looking quite as up for Sony, as PlayStation Vita continues to struggle around the globe. Sales for the entire handheld division during the same period clock in at approximately 700,000, which includes PlayStation Vita, PSP, and PlayStation TV. Nothing to write home about there.

Fortunately, the company's game division overall is enjoying a year-over-year revenue boost of 84 percent. There's no doubt that PlayStation 4's unbelievable success has virtually everything to do with that fact.
