Nintendo Sheds Light on Its Sleep-Sensing “Quality of Life” Platform

During Nintendo's investor briefing, the company pulled back the curtain on its plans for its Quality of Life platform.

The Big N is working with ResMed to make a non-wearable device that monitors a person's sleeping behavior. The piece of tech is to be placed near the user's bed when they sleep so that it can then collect information on the person's vitals and upload the information to a cloud-based service that will provide a clear picture of the person's overall health.

While this has nothing to do with video games, it's supposedly going to be a big focus at Nintendo going forward. Here's to hoping it proves to be profitable for the Big N, but not something that pulls the company away from making amazing games.
