New Harvest Moon Titled Story of Seasons Announced for 3DS

The Harvest Moon franchise is in an odd state thanks to companies competing over the license, but that won't stop XSEED Games from bringing the latest in the series to the west from developer Marvelous AQL.

The new game is called Story of Seasons and features "fully customizable characters, selecting gender, hair style and facial features as desired." Players will yet again join a new town with a small crop of land in order to work hard and build relationships. "In the process of tending to crops, animals and the many other aspects of everyday farming life, players will amass the resources necessary to customize and expand their farms."

The game obviously sounds a lot like Harvest Moon because it essentially *is* a new Harvest Moon, despite the fact that Natsume owns the license in the West and as such XSEED must call the game by another name.

We're hoping to get hands-on with Story of Seasons at E3 2014, so stick with GameRevolution for more coverage in the coming weeks.
