Final Fantasy’s Iconic Soundtrack Gets New Arrangements

A New World: Intimate Music From Final Fantasy is a new chamber music show from Square Enix with musical selections from 25 years of Final Fantasy games and entertainment, but with a decidedly different take on live video game music.

Rather than going all out like Video Games Live, A New World features just 13 musicians who break into string quartets and perform more solos from the voluminous library of Final Fantasy music.

Series composer Nobuo Uematsu will also appear in the North American premier of the concert from May 16th to 18th. The show starts at Anime Central in Illinois, with another show in Omaha on May 18th and then two more shows at Otakuthon in Montreal, Canada.

The Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy show also has upcoming shows through summer, with stops at the Teatro Regional de Rancagua, Symphony Center in Chicago, and Sony Centre in Toronto.
