Nintendo Shutting Down Wii, DS Wi-Fi Service in May

Nintendo has announced that it will be shutting down its wi-fi services for Wii and DS on May 20th. This is a "global termination," so every region will be affected.

What does this mean, exactly? Well, for one, you will no longer be able to play games online with your Wii or DS. That's right, no more Mario Kart Wii or Smash Bros. Brawl online play for you! You can check out the full list of affected games and services right here.

Other services like the Wii Shop Channel, the DSi Shop, Internet Channel, and YouTube will remain up and running. Make no mistake, Nintendo still wants you to spend your money in these online marketplaces.
