PAX East Reveals iOS-Dominated Indie Showcase Lineup, Featuring Wayward Souls, Crowman & Wolfboy, Duet, & More

Organizers for PAX East, the gaming convention for fans that runs every year in Boston, MA, have unveiled the PAX East Indie Showcase, featuring six games that'll certainly turn heads throughout 2014.

I'm most interested in Wayward Souls (above), a game from Rocketcat and set for iOS platforms. The genre is described as "Permadeath Action-Adventure," which sounds f***ing bad ass, especially for mobile gaming.

Wayward Souls features randomized levels and the PAX Indie Showcase page says "Think Secret of Mana meets Spelunky." Rocketcat Games have been working on the title for two years now and are ready to show off the game's quick playthroughs and replay value complete with six different characters with different playstyles, cutomization options for each, and rare and secret areas to discover.

Wayward Souls is joined by Tiny Dice Dungeon from Springloaded, The Spookening from Modesty, Framed from Loveshack, Duet from Kumobius, and Crowman & Wolfboy. All of these games will be available on iOS and some will be available on Android platforms as well.
