GTAV Will Release on Next-Gen Platforms “If That Is Where Consumers Are,” Says Take-Two CEO

Considering the popularity of Grand Theft Auto V, it was slightly surprising not to see an upgraded launch-title version for either Xbox One or PlayStation 4, or even a PC version for that matter. But there doesn't seem to be a significant reason why Rockstar couldn't up-rez the title for next-gen consoles sometime this year if just to sell more copies.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick agrees, in a statement to MCVUK, but will let Rockstar make its own decision regarding a next-gen version:

If that is where consumers are, absolutely [we'll release our game on that]. But we wouldn’t drive them there, we would just be there if they are there. That is why we have a companion app for our basketball title, NBA 2K Everywhere. It is wherever consumers want to be. We are not in the hardware business, we don’t have any dog in that hut, we just want to be where the consumer is.

Would you purchase Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC if it existed?
