Pokemon Go Season of Light Features the Debut of Legendary Cosmog

The Pokemon Go Season of Light begins on September 1 and features the game debut of the mysterious Legendary Nebula Pokémon called Cosmog. The entire season will be themed around the Psychic-Type Pokemon, including themed avatar items and Nebula skies, as well as upcoming events.

The Pokemon available during the Season of Light

The Nebula Pokemon Cosmog is the main attraction of the Season of Light. Players will be able to bond with the Legendary Pokemon by completing Special Research. The first part of the Season of Light Special Research becomes available on September 1 with part 2 arriving on October 12 and the final part being released on November 23. Cosmog also brings along galaxy skies that show up occasionally throughout the Season and themed avatar items, including Cosmog hats.

Different Pokemon will be appearing in the wild in different types of environments, and those marked with * have shiny variants available during the season too. These are also set to change throughout the season. For now, the Pokemon due to appear in the wild are:

Also on September 1, four types of raids — Normal Forme Deoxys, Attack Forme Deoxys, Defense Forme Deoxys, and Speed Forme Deoxys — become available until September 13. The Medicham Research Breakthrough runs until October 1. The only event that has been confirmed so far is the Inkay Limited Research event that starts a couple of days later on September 3. Finally, there are several seasonal bonuses that will be active:

  • Increased damage for Pokemon participating in raids remotely
  • Guaranteed gifts from Pokestop spins
  • Increased incense effectiveness while moving
  • Up to two free Raid Passes per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Additional Items from Research Breakthroughs
  • Increased Stardust reward for Research Breakthroughs
  • Extra Stardust from Gifts

The Pokemon Go Season of Light will begin at 10:00 AM on September 1 and will then end at 9:59 AM local time on December 1.

In other news, the number of games available on Steam Deck has surpassed 5,000, although not all of these are verified. Elsewhere, the Splatoon 3 tick rate is 30% worse than that in the first game.
