The Annapurna Interactive Showcase took place tonight and amongst the many announcements were five games that will be making their way to Xbox Game Pass in the future. Keen to capitalize on the success of their cat adventure game Stray, the show featured a total of 16 games but there was no news on Stray coming to any other consoles.
Five new Xbox Game Pass games from Annapurna Interactive
The first of five Xbox Game Pass games to be announced at the Annapurna Interactive Showcase, Thirsty Suitors is “a game about culture, relationships, family pressures, and expressing oneself.” The game combines skateboarding, cooking, and turn-based battles against ex-boyfriends as Jala returns to her hometown. Living under a roof with her demanding parents, Jala needs to reconcile with her exes and mend broken friendships in time for her sister’s wedding. The game is coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch, as well as PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4, but there is no release date just yet.
Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem is another strange combination of genres: 3D action, mech combat, farming, and base building. As war veteran, fighter, and expert mech pilot Clem, she attempts to rid herself of the guilt and shame she still feels about her past and rid the post-post-apocalyptic Red Expanse of intrusive robots. The game will launch into Xbox Game Pass, PC, PS5, and PS4 at some point in 2023.
Maquette is a game that originally launched exclusively on console for PS4 and PS5 but will now be making its way to Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch this winter. The first-person puzzle game is inspired by MC Escher and makes clever use of perspective while players manipulate buildings, plants, and other objects to escape from a variety of different environments.
Solar Ash also launched as a PS5 and PS4 console exclusive but will be heading to Steam on December 6 before leaping onto Xbox Game Pass this winter. Voidrunner Rei ventures through a surreal dreamscape trying to discover the mysteries of the Starseed and Echo. Among the ruins of past civilizations are grind rails, tall buildings to grapple, and ashen clouds to be surfed. While this sounds idyllic, there are also plenty of the Ultravoid’s vile creatures trying to get in her way.
Finally, Flock is a multiplayer co-op game where players assume the role of flying shepherds. With a small herd of hover-sheep, players travel around the world to discover untouched pastures and to charm other wild creatures to join their flock. The wool also comes in handy for a variety of goods, including the chance to knit the longest scarf ever. The game will be launching on Xbox Game Pass, PS5, PS4, and PC “soon.”
In other news, Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently down for the second time in 24 hours. Elsewhere, the Xbox Games With Gold August 2022 titles include Scourgebringer and Saints Row 2.
