Nintendo finally announced a release date for Switch-exclusive Bayonetta 3 and revealed the Trinity Masquerade Edition that will be available at retail. Both of these arrived at the same time as a brand new trailer that unveiled some of the characters Bayonetta will meet along her journey. PlatinumGames also revealed that while Bayonetta is “back and sexier than ever“, the Naive Angel mode will make the game more accessible to younger players.
Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition details
The Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition will include a full-color 200-page art book as well as three reversible game cases to accommodate the three games in the Bayonetta franchise. The cases will combine to form a single piece of panoramic artwork. While you can always display the cases without the games actually in them, if you want to put the cartridges in the cases then you’ll need to make sure you grab one of the limited-edition copies of Bayonetta, which is due to be released on September 30. The release date for the Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition is October 28 and it will be released at select retailers and the MyNintendo Store.
In addition to the special edition and release date announcement, PlatinumGames also released a brand new trailer that showed some of the characters Bayonetta will meet in the game. These will include a “veritable coven of Bayonettas” that may or may not be able to save humanity. Players will also be able to control a second character, the witch-in-training Viola. She comes with a feline demon companion called Cheshire.
Finally, PlatinumGames sought to put players’ minds at rest by revealing Bayonetta “is back and sexier than ever“. However, for those with children and who may be playing the game on the main living room TV, the Naive Angel mode will add more clothing to the characters so there is less nudity throughout the game.
