Elden Ring players keep hoping for news on DLC for the game, but any hopes of that were raised and squashed within a short space of time by the release of a strange trailer. Fans were hoping the surprise trailer would reveal DLC for the game, and maybe even a release date for that DLC, but they got a UFC-themed live-action accolades trailer instead.
Hoping for any Elden Ring DLC news
Seeing as Bloodborne and the three games in the Dark Souls trilogy all had DLC expansions, it isn’t too much of a stretch to expect Elden Ring to also get new content. However, neither developer FromSoftware nor publisher Bandai Namco has announced any DLC for Elden Ring at the time of writing. FromSoftware CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki has promised the game will continue to receive updates into the future, although they are also working on several other games that are at too early a stage to be revealed just yet.
Fans were hoping today would be the day that DLC was announced, but their hopes were soon dashed when it turned out the new trailer was another accolades trailer. The second Elden Ring live-action trailer features UFC Middleweight champion fighter Israel Adesanya, who reminds players to “be sharper than their swords, hit harder than their hammers.” The video is reminiscent of the game’s dark world although it is not set in the Lands Between. Players may notice a similar theme to the first live-action trailer that featured Mulan’s voice actor Ming-Na Wen, one of the roles that led her to be honored as a Disney Legend.
In other gaming news, the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope October release date had been leaked ahead of today’s Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase. Elsewhere, Steam Deck shipments will “more than double” from today as production has increased.
