Fall Guys relaunched as a free-to-play game yesterday and was almost immediately hit by server issues as players flocked to try out the game for the first time. Those issues are continuing today, albeit not as badly, but the daily section of the Item Shop has been taken down temporarily while developer Mediatonic deals with a “haunted item”.

The daily section of the Fall Guys Item Shop has been taken down “for a few hours” after the developer found “a haunted item causing issues“. The team is currently “performing the ritual needed to rid us of the spirit“. So far this section of the shop has been down for two hours and there’s no indication of its return at the time of writing, nor did they say exactly which item had been causing the issues.
The team also said that “if you got booted from the game during this, you may have to try joining a few times.” Apparently the server “gets a lil spicy” when there are large numbers of players trying to get back into the game at the same time but “you will be let in eventually dw”. Basically, if you encounter error messages like “Failed to login, please check your connection” it means there is actually nothing wrong with your connection, just that the servers are still struggling a little under the strain. You should eventually be able to join a game but you may also want to keep an eye on the Fall Guys Twitter account for the latest updates.
In other gaming news, DICE has confirmed Mirror’s Edge 3 won’t happen anytime soon as they’re too busy with Battlefield 2042 to find time for it. Elsewhere, Xbox Game Pass adds five more games throughout the rest of June, including FIFA 22 and Far Cry 5.
