The Venom series’ star Tom Hardy cryptically confirmed on Instagram that the script for Venom 3 is now complete. A post on the Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage star’s account displays a picture of what appears to be the front page of the third film’s script. What does the post reveal about the next Venom film and what does it mean for fans of the franchise?
Venom 3 script complete according to cryptic Tom Hardy Instagram post
The production of a new Venom film – following 2018’s Venom and 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage – was confirmed late last year, but beyond that there’s been no info about the third installment in the Spider-Man spin-off series. Until now.
Tom Hardy, who plays journalist Eddie Brock and, of course, his tongue-slashing anti-hero alter ego, posted a picture of the script on his Instagram account. The fan-teasing post includes a crude, hand-scribbled picture of the toothy baddie above the words, “Story by Tom Hardy & Kelly Marcel.” Beneath that, screenwriter Marcel, who penned both Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage is credited as the writer.
Hardy didn’t share anything else with his 8 million+ Instagram followers, but the cryptic confirmation was more than enough to whip his fans into a social media frenzy. Aside from knowing it was in production, details on Venom 3 were scarce, leaving fans to wonder what was happening with the project. Hardy’s post puts any concerns to rest, affirming Venom 3 is still very much alive.
The two previous Venom films failed to register with critics, but audiences generally embraced them to the tune of big returns at the box office. That support has continued to fuel the franchise and, as the enthusiasm over this tease confirms, those faithful fans are definitely hungry for more Venom.
