Genshin Impact Hidden Dreams in the Depths Update Adds Two New Characters Today

The latest update for Genshin Impact, Hidden Dreams in the Depths, has arrived on all platforms today. Version 2.7 adds two new playable characters, several events that take players back to The Chasm, and the Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival in Inazuma. Of course, there are also the usual compensation rewards for the five hours of downtime the update took to deploy.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7 Hidden Dreams in the Depths Patch Notes

Players return to The Chasm in the Perilous Trail event that is part of a new Archon Quest Interlude Chapter. Yanfei, Yelan, Arataki Itto, and Kuki Shinobu find themselves stranded in the depths of The Chasm, but they’re not the only ones in danger as Xiao is also conducting an investigation of his own. Together they’ll uncover the history and secrets of Liyue, such as how the people fought against monsters 500 years ago. As players progress through Perilous Trail, a new combat challenge called Realms of Guile and War will be unlocked. Players need to conquer multiple rounds of combat across four challenge domains to earn the event-exclusive four-star bow, Fading Twilight.

The Chasm is also the location for the A Muddy Bizarre Adventure event. Hosseini the Sumeru scholar finds a mud-like substance emerging from its caverns and mines, which players must help clear away using the Lumenstone Adjuvant and the Pursina’s Spike. There are also tasks like defeating its monsters or escorting a hot air balloon to its destination.

After meeting them in the Perilous Trail event, both Yelan and Kuki Shinobu will become playable characters that come with their own Story Quest and Hangout Event. Yelan is a five-star Hydro DPS character with a bow for a weapon, rapid attacks, and agile mobility. She has multiple identities, including the owner of the Yanshang Teahouse and a special intelligence officer. Meanwhile, Kuki Shinobu is a four-star support character with a sword and the ability to manipulate the Electro element. She can use her own HP to heal other party members.

Finally, the Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival is taking place in Inazuma to celebrate Shinobu’s graduation. Itto gives players a drum with which they need to match percussion and drum beats in a rhythm game. there’s also the Core of the Apparatus event where a toy merchant needs help to create robotic toys and he will give you robotic furnishings for the Serenitea Pot in return. For the full list of all additions and bug fixes, check out the patch notes on the game’s website.

In other news, the latest F1 22 trailer gives an extended look at the F1 Life mode. Elsewhere, a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer is being released tomorrow.
