Leaks indicate that a new Genshin Impact Thunder Crash event is fast approaching. Allegedly, the in-game event will present players with the opportunity to unlock Beidou for free. Beidou is an incredibly popular character, which only serves to make Genshin Impact’s upcoming Thunder Crash event a more exciting prospect.
Genshin Impact Thunder Crash: Release date and how to get Beidou free
The Genshin Impact Thunder Crash event release date is July 21, according to rumors. During the event, players can complete in-game challenges to earn two new currencies — unlocking Beidou free reportedly requires 1,000 of each.
Storm Sleet and Crackling Crystal are the leaked currencies in question. Seemingly, completing the first three new challenges will reward players with the former, while the fourth and final challenge will grant users the latter. It isn’t yet clear what the challenges entail and/or how large the payouts are, so unlocking Beidou free could prove to be easy or somewhat of a grind.

Hopefully, it won’t be too hard. “To an extent,” the Thunder Crash event apparently centers around Beidou due to her unique skill set. It wouldn’t make much sense for miHoYo to lock Beidou away for a long time with that in mind.
Genshin Impact Thunder Crash’s rumored release date could line up with the anticipated 2.0 patch. This is based on past precedent and speculation, so, as ever, take it with a pinch of salt. In reality, the Genshin Impact 2.0 update launch could be anytime between August and December 2021. That’s before accounting for any potential delays, which could be more likely than usual in the current pandemic climate. Stay tuned to GameRevolution for updates moving forward.
