Horizon Forbidden West Patch 1.11 Fixes Legendary Weapons

Guerrilla Games has revealed the latest Horizon Forbidden West 1.11 update, which actually has patch 1.10 rolled into it for the sake of expedience. As it has been with many of the game’s patches, this Horizon Forbidden West 1.11 update fixes multiple issues, but this time it focuses on repairing the accidental, unintended nerf to legendary weapons that was introduced in a prior update.

Horizon Forbidden West 1.11 Update

First and foremost, according to a post on the official Horizon Forbidden West Reddit, patch 1.11 improves the power of legendary weapons relative to epic purple weapons. One of the prior updates had reduced the base stats to legendary weapons to balance them out, but it unfortunately also reduced the stat improvements for upgrades as well.

This meant that it usually wasn’t worth the trouble to obtain legendary weapons and sacrifice all the materials necessary for minimal improvements when a fully upgraded purple weapon could perform just about the same with fewer resources. Patch 1.11 apparently fixes this by making the lowest tier of legendary weapons more in line with the highest tier purple weapons.

One minor but still significant update patch 1.11 fixes is the visibility during the underwater section of the San Francisco Challenge Ruin Hobart Office. This ruin challenge can take a very long time to complete with the lack of lighting, forcing players to use the sonar ping for navigation.

Other notable changes for patch 1.11 include the ability to grab the Sun Scourge bow from Asera’s corpse, which will continue to respawn until Aloy grabs the bow. It also fixes various instances where Apex versions of machines either didn’t spawn or didn’t drop the right materials. Action prompts and quest markers can now be hidden to clean up the HUD.

It’s unclear when Horizon Forbidden West will receive a patch to have 4K40FPS or reduced shimmering issues when playing the game in performance mode, two features that fans still want addressed.

In other news, the next Gears of War game will be open-world and will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and the story-based RPG Citizen Sleeper will be arriving for PC, Switch, and Xbox.
