Citizen Sleeper, a brand new RPG from developer Jump Over The Age, is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox consoles in May according to the developer. The game will also launch on Xbox Game Pass, meaning subscribers can get access to it at no extra cost when it releases on May 5 across all platforms.
What type of RPG is Citizen Sleeper?
According to the devs, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi narrative game that has a heavy focus on story and worldbuilding. Players will take control of a digitized human known as a Sleeper. Stranded on an abandoned space station, the ultimate goal of the game is to establish relationships with the thousands of other survivors and evade being captured by a mysterious enemy known as The Man who works for the corporation that originally built you.
Citizen Sleeper blends traditional role-playing elements with tabletop games to help give users more freedom to choose their path. This includes using action dice and ticking clocks that keep a track of everything you do. The game will include a soundtrack by Amos Roddy and features the same talent who created the critically acclaimed In Other Waters for Nintendo Switch and PC.
In the launch trailer, you can get an idea of the art style that Citizen Sleeper uses and how the dice-based gameplay works. According to the store pages for the game, it will cost $19.99 and will launch simultaneously across all platforms, including the Xbox One and Xbox Series X. PC gamers will be able to pick it up on the Epic Games Store, Humble Store, GOG, and Steam.
In other news, the next batch of Xbox Game Pass games have leaked online and includes Life is Strange: True Colors, and a brand new Tomb Raider game built on Unreal Engine 5 has been announced.
