And yet again, there is no Halo Infinite update. Brian ‘ske7ch’ Jarrard, the community director for Halo Infinite, has apologized to fans on the Halo Reddit for the developer’s lack of substantial Halo Infinite updates since launch. However, the Halo community has downvoted the post and is frustrated with the game’s seemingly glacial progress so far.
Why has 343 Industries been silent about Halo Infinite updates?
The monthly Community Update recaps overall Halo happenings from the past month. This is not the #HaloInfinite update nor the Season 1 outcomes blog I mentioned was coming. That's still in the works and *should* be landing tomorrow. (cue the April Fools memes, etc.) https://t.co/2YG5q0qgDQ

In response to a tweet Jarrard posted about a monthly Community Update recap for Halo Infinite, he replied in a Reddit post that shared the tweet and apologized for the currently poor progress with the planned roadmap for the game:
“We’re certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations, it’s a difficult situation that’s going to take the team time to work through. Right now the focus is on S2 and we’ll have more to share on that in the coming weeks.”
Jarrard continues by saying that the lack of “detailed regular updates” is mainly due to the “production planning, costing, planning, hiring.” (Yes, he uses the word “planning” twice.) He further admits that the Halo community is “out of patience” and “tired of words.”
However, it would seem that most fans are not accepting this apology, with many players noting that much of the work on Halo Infinite’s roadmap should have completed well before the game’s launch. One user asked the developer, “Like, honestly, how was season 2 or literally any post launch content not planned before launch?”
The general response by the users in the thread is that the Halo Infinite update schedule has been poor, and while users like that the developer is being transparent about the game’s struggles as a live-service title, one users views Jarrard’s apology as a sign that the game’s future is “grim as hell.”
Halo Infinite has had multiple features delayed so far. The popular Forge mode is currently being tested by the community but doesn’t look like it’s going to be live until much later in the year. The co-op component for the campaign has also been pushed back after being planned for Season 2. Perhaps a part of Halo Infinite’s sluggish progress is due to Andrew Witts, the multiplayer lead for Halo Infinite, announcing his departure last month.
In other news, E3 2022 has been thoroughly cancelled, and Xbox Game Pass is rumored to be getting a family plan.
