Amalur IP Fails To Find A Buyer At 38 Studios Auction

This week's auction for 38 Studios and Big Huge Games failed to find a suitable offer for the Kingdoms of Amalur IP, further delaying the sale of the troubled franchise.

Included in the deal were both the rights to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning as well as the work-in- progress MMO dubbed Project Copernicus. That said, the auction wasn't a complete disaster, as the Big Huge Games trademark, Rise of Nations, Rise of Legends, and associated IP were all sold for a total of $320,000.

While it's better than nothing, it certainly isn't enough to dig the state of Rhode Island out of its current debt situation. Here's to hoping Amalur finds a suitable buyer and we get a sequel. Reckoning was a great game that deserves more attention.
