Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League live service

Suicide Squad game is unlikely to be live-service

Is Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League live service? It’s been over a year since Warner Bros and Rocksteady released any information about the new Suicide Squad game, but it’s been confirmed that fans will see more at Fandome next month — and maybe more. A new press release gives more information about Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League gameplay, and despite fan suspicions and Warner Bros comments, it may not be a live-service game like Marvel’s Avengers after all.

Is Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League a live-service game?

Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League live service

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will likely not be a live-service game, thanks to details in the latest press release. Earlier this year it was reported that all Warner Bros games would have “a heavy focus on live service.” Fellow DC game Gotham Knights was confirmed as not being a games as a service title, but most people assumed Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad would not be the same and would probably be live-service.

However, the latest press release casts doubt on this by stating the game would be set entirely in Metropolis and would be based around playing “the four Suicide Squad members.” If Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was live-service then it would feature multiple locations, or at the very least there would be more than four characters to play as. Even Marvel’s Avengers began with five characters with the promise of more to come, so it seems very likely that Suicide Squad will be more of a co-op game similar to Gotham Knights rather than live-service like Avengers.

Does Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League release in 2022?

The press release confirms that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League still has a planned release date of 2022. This may slip later, but right now Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad will release in the same year. 2022 will be a very good year for DC gaming fans, to say nothing of the Fortnite crossover with The Batman movie.
