Nintendo Reveals Playable Cranky Kong For Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Out February 21st

Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime appeared on Geoff Keighley's VGX stream to talk about Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and to reveal that players can take on the white beard and cane of Cranky Kong for the first time.

Cranky Kong is playable in Tropical Freeze and allows players to defeat spiked enemies thanks to his cane. Cranky and Donkey can combine their powers for a special screen-clearing attack, but more importantly Nintendo unveiled Tropical Freeze's release date.

The next Donkey Kong adventure in HD on Wii U will land February 21st. Retro Studios refused to answer whether the studio was also working on the next Metroid game. Stick with GameRevolution for more on everything from Nintendo.
