Pokemon Sword and Shield players can get free Secrets of the Jungle DLC

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have announced that fans can get Pokemon Sword and Shield Dada Zarude and Shiny Celebi for free, bringing two brand new Pokemon to the already impressive list for the game. The Pokemon Sword and Shield free DLC will be released on October 7 to tie in with the release of the new animated movie Pokemon: Secrets of the Jungle, in which the Mythical Pokemon Zarude and Celebi feature heavily. Here’s how to get them.

Pokemon fans can get a code for the Dada Zarude and Shiny Celebi DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield entirely for free before September 25 by following these steps:

  • Head to the Pokemon Trainer Club website and sign up for a new account.
  • Opt-in to email marketing or notifications and sign up for the Trainer newsletter. Make sure this is done before September 25.
  • Everyone who does this before the cut-off date will receive a code for both Pokemon in a Trainer Club email on October 7, the day before the movie releases.
  • Head into Pokemon Sword or Shield, making sure the Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet, and open the ‘Mystery Gift’ option in the ‘X’ menu. Put the codes in here, and the free Dada Zarude and Shiny Celebi DLC will get added to the game.

Dada Zarude is a level 70 Mythical Pokemon with the Leaf Guard ability, and Shiny Celebi is a level 60 Pokemon with the Natural Cure ability. Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle will release October 8, and the trailer for the movie is below.
