Watch Dogs Legion free weekend

Watch Dogs Legion is free to play this weekend, but not on Xbox

The latest Watch Dogs Legion free weekend is starting tomorrow, September 3, and it allows everyone to experience the full single-player campaign and multiplayer for three days — although it seems that not everyone will get in on this offer. The Watch Dogs Legion Xbox versions may be excluded from this free event, and the game’s still not available on Steam so don’t expect to see it there either. Here are all the details on this Watch Dogs Legion free trial event.

Is the Watch Dogs Legion free weekend on Xbox One or Xbox Series X?

Watch Dogs Legion free weekend

The free weekend for Watch Dogs Legion is not available on Xbox One or Xbox Series X, and Ubisoft has not revealed why this is the case. Here are the platforms getting the free trial from tomorrow:

  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 4
  • PC via Epic Games Store
  • PC via Ubisoft Connect
  • Google Stadia

Anyone who plays the free weekend will essentially have the full game installed, so any player who decides to buy Watch Dogs Legion at the end of the trial — or much later — will be able to carry on their save file from where they left off. All players will get access to both the single-player campaign and Legion’s online mode, although presumably the one thing left out will be the game’s various DLC expansions, including the return of Watch Dogs protagonist Aiden Pierce.

What is the Watch Dogs Legion free weekend start time?

The start time for the Watch Dogs Legion free trial is Friday, September 3 at 9 AM PST/12 PM EST/5 PM BST. Preload for the free weekend on all available platforms is available right now, so players can download Legion right now and be ready to play tomorrow.

What is the Watch Dogs Legion free weekend end time?

The end time for the Watch Dogs Legion free weekend is Sunday, September 5 at 7 AM PST/10 AM EST/3 PM BST.
