Fortnite Mega Islands

Fortnite Mega Islands could make Creative maps four times bigger and better

Fortnite Creative mode already spawns a lot of exciting custom maps and match types, though the creation process may soon become a lot less constraining. Massive “Mega Islands” could be coming to Fortnite, according to a recent leak. Reportedly, Fortnite Mega Islands are more than four times bigger than the current largest offering. Their addition would grant creators much more real estate when building new custom maps and modes.

Fortnite’s XL Islands could be getting an upgrade

Fortnite Mega Islands

Epic Games is testing Fortnite Mega Islands more than four times the size of XL Islands in Creative mode, reports indicate. According to notable data miner @iFireMonkey, Mega Islands in Fortnite measure a huge 899×899 in comparison to XL Isalnds’ measurement of just 215×215.

According to the leak, there are three Mega Islands that Epic is (or once was) testing. It’s worth noting that the leak references this testing phase in the past tense; it isn’t currently clear if the plans are still going ahead.

  • Talon Chain
  • Flat Grid Mega Island

Fortnite Mega Islands certainly sound ambitious, which could explain any potential change of plans. Without official confirmation, however, it’s only possible to speculate on Mega Islands’ status right now. Hopefully, players will see them arrive in a new Fortnite update sooner rather than later. All that extra space could result in some entertaining Fortnite Island Codes for fans to share with their friends online.

In other news, creative types will appreciate that (in spite of its predetermined cast) the Saints Row reboot still features character customization. Psychonauts 2 also showcases Double Fine’s continuing creativity with “second-to-none” visual design. Meanwhile, Riders Republic grants players the freedom to showcase their own unique style — both by performing sweet tricks and dressing up like a snazzy giraffe in a tuxedo.
