The New Pokemon Snap 2.0.0 update is out now, and players are discovering that Nintendo has added a load of free DLC along with quality of life improvements. This New Pokemon Snap DLC takes the form of three new areas to explore and 20 new Pokemon to find and take photos of — and it’s all completely free. Here are the full New Pokemon Snap patch notes and a list of all the new Pokemon added to the game in today’s update.

New Pokemon Snap 2.0.0 Update

Here’s the list of all 20 of the new Pokemon that can be found in New Pokemon Snap as of the 2.0.0. update:

  1. Snorlax
  2. Shroomush
  3. Foongus
  4. Ursaring
  5. Gyrados
  6. Psyduck
  7. Drilbur
  8. Feraligatr
  9. Tropius
  10. Cleffa
  11. Rockruff
  12. Crustle
  13. Swalot
  14. Koffing
  15. Tepid
  16. Diglet
  17. Scoliopede
  18. Gliscor
  19. Salazzle
  20. Zeraora

These 20 can be added to the 217 Pokemon already in New Pokemon Snap, making for a new total of 237.

These new Pokemon can be found across three new areas that have also been added in the latest patch for free: Secret Side Path, Mightywide River, and Barren Badlands. All of these can be glimpsed in the trailer below, with Secret Side Path seemingly being uniquely accessed by shrinking down to mouse-size in Florio Island’s nature park — with Snorlax, in particular, seeming even larger this way. Mightywide River takes place on Belusylva Island, and Barren Badlands is part of the volcanic Voluca Island.

Nintendo is occasionally known to suddenly drop massive unexpected updates for its games, so a batch of free DLC for the three-month-old New Pokemon Snap is a welcome gift. Our reviewer enjoyed New Pokemon Snap but felt it was “a missed opportunity to do something other than beat Pokemon up” — check out that review right here.
