Halo Waypoint app to make a return for Infinite

It was easy to miss, but the Halo Infinite multiplayer reveal actually gave confirmation that the Halo Waypoint app is coming back to mobile. The previous application gave players the means to keep up with friends and track stats, though the new iteration will also let users customize their in-game character, weapons, and vehicles. It’s still in development, but the Halo Infinite Android and iPhone (iOS) app should be a massive convenience for franchise devotees.

Once available, Halo Infinite players can download the Halo Waypoint iPhone (iOS) app by:

  1. Tap the “App Store” icon on the Home Screen
  2. Select “Search” from the bottom-right corner of the screen
  3. Touch the search bar, then enter “Halo Waypoint” (without quotes)
  4. Tap the “GET” button, then confirm the selection

To download to new Halo Waypoint app on Android, do the following once it’s available:

  1. Open the “Play Store” app
  2. Search “Halo Waypoint” to find the application
  3. Tap “Install” to download the Halo Infinite companion app

Halo Waypoint for Halo Infinite isn’t available just yet, though there are some work-in-progress renders of the app within this article. They originate from the multiplayer reveal event (below), though, unfortunately, there wasn’t a Halo Waypoint release date reveal. Since Halo Infinite is due to launch this holiday season, it seems reasonable to assume that the new Halo Waypoint application will come out alongside it.

The Halo Infinite multiplayer component is standalone and free. There’s still a paid Halo Infinite story campaign, however, which gamers also got a look at during E3 2021. Seemingly Cortana — Master Chief’s right-hand artificial woman — is now facing deletion; in her place, there’s an all-new A.I. with a new voice actress.

Speaking of which, all multiplayer Spartans now have access to Personal AI with different voiceovers. Ever wanted to switch out the series’ iconic announcer for a more talkative alternative? Halo Infinite lets players do just that.
