Outriders gifting free Legendaries after ‘disappointing’ launch weekend

Outriders had a rocky start, to say the least. This is something that the developers at People Can Fly are aware of, and in an effort to make things right, the studio is gifting its community free in-game items. The “community appreciation package” is only available to users that meet certain requirements, however. Here are the details on Outriders’ free Legendary gift and how to claim it.

How to get Outriders’ free Legendary gift

Players will receive the free Outriders Legendary gift if they logged into the game between March 31 and April 11, UTC.

Users that didn’t boot up Outriders on their platform of choice during that window don’t qualify, with one exception. Anyone that had their gear restored after encountering the inventory wipe bug will receive the free in-game gifts.

Outriders ‘community appreciation package’ contents

  • A level appropriate Legendary weapon
  • A level appropriate amount of Titanium
  • The “Frustration” emote

These rewards will apply to each player’s highest-level character only. Although the “Frustration” emote seems like People Can Fly poking a little fun, apparently, its fitting name is merely coincidental.

Right now, the dev team is “still determining when the appreciation package will be delivered.” While it’s currently unknown when players will get their hands on its contents, claiming the rewards should be a simple process for those that meet the above criteria.

In a Reddit post announcing that qualifying players will receive the Outriders free Legendary gift, PCF also states its disappointment over the game’s notable launch issues. “After working on Outriders for more than five years, we were as disappointed as you that the launch weekend did not go as planned,” reads the opening sentence. Hopefully, this is the first step in making amends between the dev team and Outriders’ player base.
