New Fortnite patch adds 50-player matchmaking to Creative Mode

The Fortnite 3.13 update patch notes (16.20) are here, with Epic Games revealing the changes ahead of downtime which promises to be “of a longer duration than normal.” When the hours of downtime are over, players will be able to enjoy vehicle customization, practice with the bow weapon, and try out 50-player matchmaking in Creative Mode.

Fortnite 3.13 update patch notes

Vehicle customization

  • Trick out your ride with new wheels.

Bow weapon for special Duos Cup

  • Sharpen those bow skills and focus up for a special Duos Cup.

Player count increase for Creative Mode matchmaking

  • 50-player matchmaking in Creative.

The above patch notes were shared by the official Fortnite Status Twitter account. These three key changes will likely be the main highlights of the new update. However, data miners will no doubt be digging into the new build to discover other unannounced changes and upcoming content.

Fortnite’s 16.20 update demands more downtime than usual, with Epic Games announcing that the maintenance period will start earlier than normal and be of a longer duration. What’s more, the patch “will be released for download a few hours into downtime.” This implies that the downtime will last multiple hours; a significant increase over the usual 1-2 hours.

The good news is that, once the downtime is over, players will be able to experience new content in both Battle Royale and Creative Mode. Making vehicles more personalized and learning to master the bow for a special Duos Cup will interest BR players, while the 50-player matchmaking will excite lovers of Creative Mode.

Elsewhere in the battle royale universe, a new Apex Legends LMG has been leaked ahead of Season 9. Named “Dragon,” it curiously uses Light Ammo.

The latest big gaming release is Outriders. Here’s the GameRevolution review in which the game is described as “a blast from a simpler past.”

A new Doom game has appeared for mobile. Get the full details and launch information here.
