Life is Strange True Colors episodic full game

Life is Strange: True Colors officially revealed at Square Enix Presents

Life is Strange: True Colors is the latest entry in the popular narrative adventure franchise. Its announcement was first teased on social media last week, then, shortly before today’s Square Enix Presents live stream, specifics leaked via a GameInformer product page. LiS: True Colors is due to release on September 10 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. That leaves fans with one overriding question, though: Is the game releasing episodically, or all at once in a complete package?

Is Life is Strange: True Colors episodic or a full game?

Typically, LiS games play out over a number of different episodes. Dontnod Entertainment released both the original Life is Strange and its numbered sequel in five parts. Before the Storm, on the other hand, was a tale of just three parts. Interestingly, Deck Nine handled the development of this shorter subtitled spin-off and is now developing Life is Strange: True Colors.

Life is Strange: True Colors will not launch episodically. For the first time in the series’ history, LiS: True Colors will launch as one complete experience. Users can enjoy the story from start to finish as a full game experience immediately after the September 10, 2021 launch.

Daniel Ahmad teased the change ahead of the official Life is Strange: True Colors reveal. Confirmation came shortly afterward, during the debut Square Enix Presents live stream.

It’s possible that more Life is Strange content is also on the way. Since Deck Nine is developing LiS: True Colors and the game has a subtitle, rather than a number, it looks to be another spin-off. This could indicate that Dontnod is developing Life is Strange 3, though, naturally, it’s only possible to speculate right now.

In other recent gaming news, a “confidential” achievement list may have leaked the next Assassin’s Creed game.

It’s been a long time since any official announcements, though fans recently got a Dying Light 2 development update.

Lastly, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut now has a launch date.
