Little Nightmares 2 will receive a delay in the UK, Bandai Namco has confirmed, with shipping issues related to Brexit meaning that physical copies of the game won’t be distributed in time for its release.
Bandai Namco stated that the game’s physical launch would be delayed by “a few days” in the region, though gave no concrete date as to when copies should arrive for buyers. The digital release of the game will be unaffected.
Little Nightmares 2 delayed due to ‘unforeseen changes’ after Brexit
Bandai Namco confirmed the delay in a statement published today, posted on its official UK Twitter account.
“Due to unforeseen changes after Brexit, shipping for physical copies of Little Nightmares 2 will be delayed in the UK & Ireland by a few days,” Bandai UK tweeted. “We sincerely apologize for this delay and assure you that we are doing everything in our power to ship your copies as soon as possible.”
Little Nightmares 2 is set to launch on February 11, with physical copies being available to purchase for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is also coming to the PC, PS5, and the Xbox Series X and S, though no physical copies are available for current-gen consoles.
Judging from Bandai’s comments, these shipping issues will affect every retailer, meaning that no matter where buyers purchased their physical copy of the game they will still face a delay. However, the game will still be purchasable on digital storefronts such as PSN, the Nintendo eShop, and Steam.
Brexit is affecting business throughout the UK, with Xbox Live Gold prices previously increased by 25% as a result of the turmoil surrounding the UK’s decision to leave the EU.
