Dragon's Dogma 2 new Onimusha game report Capcom leaks 2022

Dragon’s Dogma 2 and new Onimusha game reportedly launching in 2022

Dragon’s Dogma 2 and a new Onimusha game are reportedly on the way according to a document that’s said to be sourced from the 2020 Capcom leaks, potentially reviving two franchises that haven’t gotten much love in the last few years.

A few weeks ago, Capcom experienced a data breach that resulted in the alleged copying of internal data from the company. These leaks revealed a portion of the company’s release schedule for the next few years; other reporting has noted that a highly-anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake and Street Fighter 6 are almost certainly launching in the next year or two. What was more surprising, however, is further information emerging that shows new games in the Dragon’s Dogma and Onimusha franchises.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 among many mysterious code-named projects

Dragon's Dogma 2 2022 Capcom leaks report

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was counted among many titles reportedly arriving over the next three years from Capcom as noted on the franchise’s subreddit. A spreadsheet reportedly shows the total anticipated sales, development costs, and operating income for 12 upcoming projects and we’ve only heard of a portion of these in previous leaks.

Here are the projects that Capcom is reportedly working on for the next three years:

  • Monster Hunter Stories 2
  • Dai Gyakuten Saiban 12 port (Ace Attorney)
  • SHIELD (codename)
  • Resident Evil Outbreak J
  • REGOLITH (codename)
  • Indies 2
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Street Fighter 6
  • Rockman Match (Mega Man)
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake
  • Onimusha New Work

Some of these upcoming games are not too surprising. The Resident Evil 3 remake wasn’t as well-received as its predecessor but it was a good game nonetheless. New entries from Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, and Mega Man (and an apparent port of an Ace Attorney game) are none too surprising considering the long history and success of those franchises. What is surprising, however, is Dragon’s Dogma 2 and a potential new Onimusha game. While the Dragon’s Dogma anime has arrived on Netflix, neither that franchise nor Onimusha have had any new games released since the early 2010s.

Players should keep in mind that this is an unconfirmed leak — as always, take it with a grain of salt. That said, fantasy fans would surely be happy to see Dragon’s Dogma and Onimusha get a revival in the next few years and the success of recent fantasy releases like the Demon’s Souls remake shows that it’d be a good move.
