Two New Japanese 3DS XL Colors Are Drool-Worthy For One Reason

Wow… these are fantastic new 3DS XL designs. Just beautiful. The best part though? The buttons. Imagine putting your thumbs on these things.

I love how they pop out of the black. I understand why Nintendo wants to keep each 3DS screen bright against a dark background, especially since the 3D works better with some border enhancing your focus deeper into the screen. Still, I'd love to see these buttons staring back.

Trouble is these limited edition 3DS packs are only available in Japan. Why Nintendo?! Why do you do this to your diehard American fans? I've been considering getting a Japanese 3DS to play imports and such, but I've managed to hold off for a while (with next-gen consoles on the horizon).

Ignore that these 3DS limited edition packs promote that they also come with an AC adaptor (not every 3DS XL is sold with an AC adapter in Japan). Instead, focus on how these units also come with black drawstring bags with neon color-matched strings. So… freaking… collectible.

These new 3DS units retail in Japan for ¥19,900 which is roughly $200 American. They'll be out November 28th, just in time for me to ask the mall Santa for one.
