A Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo is reportedly on the way following an early news release from Nintendo Korea. This release of the Hyrule Warriors eShop demo will coincide with the launch of a new trailer that will tell players more about the world.
First announced in early September, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will serve as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, taking players back to the titular era. Calamity Ganon is threatening Hyrule and can only be defeated through the teamwork of some legendary heroes including Link, Zelda, and the four Champions. Now, it looks like players will be able to enjoy the first parts of this game a little early in the coming days via a demo that will include its prologue.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo saves your progress for the full game
The reported announcement of a Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo appears to have been pulled from Nintendo’s Korean website. However, two separate people on Twitter managed to grab screenshots and provide translations of the text (via ResetEra).

“The [‘Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’]trailer is released,” read a machine translation of the reported Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo announcement on Nintendo’s Korean website. “A trial version to play the prelude is also released.”
The demo won’t be a self-contained or unique experience as players might see with some games; rather, it will reportedly allow players to experience Chapter 1 of the game and carry over their progress to the full version if they decide to purchase it.
Several questions remain about the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo. Will there be any microtransactions coming to the game at a later date? There’s also the question of whether or not the game will have online multiplayer; currently, the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity eShop page does not yet indicate if this will be a feature, but that could change.
Unfortunately, the announcement doesn’t appear to exist on Nintendo’s Korean website; as always, take the reports of a Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo with a grain of salt. Either way, you can look forward to playing the next chapter in The Legend of Zelda franchise when it launches on November 20, 2020, for the Nintendo Switch.
