Watch Dogs: Legion ultra settings 4K 60FPS RTX 3090 driver computer

Watch Dogs: Legion can’t get 60 FPS at 4K Ultra settings with RTX 3090

Watch Dogs: Legion Ultra settings boast some fancy graphical options, but a new report shows that even an Intel i9-10900K and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 can’t get the game to 60 FPS at 4K resolution with everything maxed out.

The Watch Dogs: Legion release date is just a few days away. The game will feature co-op and PVP multiplayer modes, although players will have to wait until later in the year to play it. For now, a YouTuber has analyzed the game’s various graphical settings with some high-end hardware and he has made a troubling discovery: Watch Dogs: Legion Ultra settings can’t hit 60FPS at 4K resolution with everything maxed out.

Can dedicated drivers get Watch Dogs: Legion Ultra Settings above 60 FPS?

RajmanGaming HD released a YouTube video which tested out the various Watch Dogs: Legion graphical settings. The PC used for this test has the following specs:

  • NVidia GeForce RTX 3090 24GB
  • Intel Core i9-10900K
  • 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz
  • Seagate 1TB FireCuda 520 NVMe
  • ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING
  • Corsair Hydro H115i RGB Platinum
  • Corsair 850W HX850 Platinum

The PC used for this test is no slouch, especially in the processing and graphics department. It currently has an Intel Core i9-10900K and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 24GB, one of the best processors and graphics card on the market today. Among his other tests, RajmanGaming HD tried out Watch Dogs: Legion Ultra settings as follows:

  • 4K resolution (3840 x 2160)
  • Ultra Settings
  • DLSS on “Balanced”
  • RTX On “Ultra”

One would think that Watch Dogs: Legion could hit 60 FPS at 4K resolution, especially since the game will be bundled with RTX 30 Series cards. While the test does show the game go above 60 FPS at several points, it also dips as low as 50 FPS during some of the more intense action sequences. Throughout the test, it hits a minimum of 38 FPS and a maximum of 89 FPS, averaging out to 57 FPS throughout the entire test.

Does this mean that Watch Dogs: Legion Ultra settings can’t hit 60 FPS at 4K? This test shows that the game struggles to manage a smooth framerate with everything maxed out, but there is one critical detail missing: the Watch Dogs: Legion GeForce drivers have not come out yet.

Typically, major game releases will result in AMD and Nvidia releasing optimized drivers so that players can get the best performance. Neither the Watch Dogs: Legion Nvidia drivers or AMD drivers have launched just yet; players may see improvements in Watch Dogs: Legion Ultra settings after these drivers go live, allowing them to enjoy a number of gameplay improvements that the developers have created in recent months.
