Project xCloud launch Android September 2020

Play Gears 5 and Halo on mobile starting tomorrow

You’ll be able to play Gears 5 and Halo on your Android device starting tomorrow when the Project xCloud launch officially arrives. More than 100 games will be made available in 22 countries as this new cloud gaming feature debuts as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Earlier this year, Microsoft confirmed the addition of fifteen titles to the Project xCloud preview including Halo: The Master Chief CollectionDestiny 2, and Civilization 6. This created a seriously impressive list of games for just 15 bucks a month, and now we finally know what’s going to be available to play.

Gears 5 and quite a few Halo games are some of the notable titles included in the Project xCloud launch. As one might expect, Microsoft is also including newer games like the recently-released Tell Me Why alongside indie classics like Terraria in its lineup.

You won’t be able to play these games everywhere, though — the Project xCloud launch will be limited to Android devices at the start. Furthermore, the initial wave of availability is only going to be available in these countries:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Slovakia
  • Spain
  • South Korea
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

This is just the start for Microsoft’s venture into cloud gaming. It may have taken them a few years to get it right, but it looks like the future of gaming is finally here, and we haven’t even seen what this can do with the Xbox Series X.

The Project xCloud launch is less than a day away! If you live in one of the qualifying countries, you’re going to need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to enjoy this cool new feature. Other countries and iOS support are likely to be added in the coming months.
