Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell: Blacklist Sales Below Expectations

Both Rayman Legends and Splinter Cell: Blacklist have failed to meet Ubisoft's sales projections, the publisher announced during an investor call.

"As we have said we have experienced lower sales than we anticipated when we gave our targets," Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez explained. "Already released games such as Splinter Cell, Rayman and others."

Not only that, but with the recent delay of Watch Dogs and The Crew, the publisher has had to lower its fiscal 2013 projections even further. The initial forecast was $1.94 billion in income, which has since been slashed to $1.38 billion.

With Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag set to launch later this month, it will be interesting to see how well this latest entry in Ubi's most profitable franchise fares as we enter the next generation of gaming with the release of Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
