Square Enix launches new developer Balan Company to produce action games

Square Enix has been recruiting developers for new projects and debuting new games like Project Athia. Now, the company behind the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has revealed Balan Company, an all-new developer with a focus on making action games.

Famitsu reports (via Gematsu) that Balan Company will be a new action game brand for Square Enix using a mix of in-house and external developers to produce new titles. The first game from the company hasn’t been announced just yet, but this new brand indicates a diversification in Square Enix’s game production strategy which currently has a heavy reliance on role-playing games.

Balan Company uses a delightful theater theme for its aesthetic, considering the various developers an artists as members of a theater troupe. There isn’t much on the company’s official website just yet, but you can give it your e-mail to get future updates. For now, all we have to go on is a cute anthropomorphic logo and a promising message on the new developer’s official website.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the show of wonders brought to you by the BALAN COMPANY. We thank you for your patience while we make preparations for the grand opening.”
