GTA 5 Epic Games Store release rumored for tomorrow

GTA 5 Epic Games Store release is rumored to be taking place tomorrow, bringing one of this generation’s biggest blockbusters to PC gamers for free. If you haven’t yet played this awesome game, the rumor mill says that we may well be getting a Grand Theft Auto 5 Epic Games Store release tomorrow morning. This could also be the first steps towards promoting GTA 6.

Gamepressure reports that it’s been in conversation with a “very well-informed source.” According to the information it’s received, you’ll be able to grab the GTA 5 Epic Games Store release starting tomorrow. It won’t just include the base game, either; that same source says that “a lot of additional content” will be on the way, although the specifics of this mystery content isn’t exactly specified.

This may seem like a curious decision on Rockstar Games’ part, but it makes a lot of sense once you think about it. Grand Theft Auto 5 has made a ton of money for Rockstar Games from its initial sales, nevermind the stacks of the cash they’ve earned through GTA Online. The online component — or to be more specific, the Shark Cards sold for the online component — are probably a much bigger moneymaker these days, and more players would mean more potential customers for these microtransactions.

It’s not the first freebie of sorts for the game, either. Earlier this year, GTA 5made its debut on the Xbox Game Pass , allowing Xbox One gamers to play the game for free as part of their monthly subscription.

There is, of course, the possibility of this GTA 5 Epic Games Store release being used as promotion for a sequel. GTA 6 has been rumored to be in the works for a few years now and we’ve seen occasional hints about its existence here and there. Considering that it’s been six-and-a-half years since Grand Theft Auto 5 first came out, we may well be hearing something about a sequel soon.

If this rumor pans out, you’ll be able to get the GTA 5 Epic Games Store release starting tomorrow at 11:00 AM EDT and ending a week later on May 21, 2020, at 10:59 AM EDT. For now, you have one day left to get Death Coming for free from Epic Games.
