After some rumors, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remastered release date has been announced alongside the first trailer for the game. This title contains the first two games in the series and will come to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC (through the Epic Games Store) on September 4, 2020 for $39.99 (as well as a $49.99 deluxe edition full of cosmetics and $99.99 collector’s edition with cosmetics and a limited-run board). Pre-orders get access to the Warehouse demo before the game releases (but that date wasn’t given).
While Tony Hawk may have spoiled the surprise earlier this morning, the game was officially revealed on Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. It’s not just a gussied up version of the first two games either. It’ll have a new roster of modern skaters and they’ll have their own special moves. The game will have all of the areas from those first two titles but also have some original ones as well. Some of the songs will return, but not the full tracklist from the original.

Players will be able to create their own skater and park, which you can share online with your friends. There will also be local and online co-op so you can play alongside those same friends. Jack Black’s YouTube channel, Jablinski Games, already has some gameplay mixed in with Black’s usual antics.
Vicarious Visions, the team responsible for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, is handling this remaster. Studio Head Jen Oneal said that this is the experience that “fans have been asking for,” which is hopefully a relief, given the last Tony Hawk remaster. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012 and was poorly received. The game was eventually delisted in 2017. Hopefully, this remaster goes more down the Crash and Spyro route and less down the 2012 Tony Hawk route.
