Hideo Kojima horror game Death Stranding soldiers

Hideo Kojima wants to make a game that “that doesn’t just make you pee your pants, but crap them”

Are we getting a new Hideo Kojima horror game? The creator of Death Stranding and the Metal Gear franchise continues to talk about making something spooky, raising hopes that we’re going to get a spooky game similar to Silent Hill.

“I’m easily frightened myself, so I have confidence that I could create something more terrifying than perhaps others could,” Mr. Kojima said in an interview with BAFTA. “I get frightened of things like darkness and imagine shadows of ghosts in the dark. Just like Hitchcock or Spielberg did.”

Our first hints of the next Hideo Kojima horror game popped up in October of last year. This was supplemented by the man himself saying that he could make “the scariest horror game”. Perhaps more critically, a former Silent Hill artist who has worked with Hideo Kojima in the past has signaled that he’s a “core member” of a new project.

Aside from what scares him, Mr. Kojima also touched on the future work potentially being done at Kojima Productions.

“[Silent Hill P.T.] ended as just an experiment, but I would like to make another horror game someday,” he added. “Something that uses a revolutionary method to create terror, that doesn’t just make you pee your pants, but crap them. I already have ideas in mind.”
