PS4 Pro price Amazon cover

PS4 Pro price discounted online ahead of rumored PS5 conference

The PS4 Pro price has been discounted on Amazon as we get ever closed to a rumored PS5 conference.

The sale was highlighted by @Wario64 on Twitter, noting the absolutely crazy discount down to $299.99. Normally, the PS4 Pro 1 TB will cost you a cool $399.99 — that makes for a very solid 25% discount.

No specific reason was given for the sale, but there are hints that this could be leading up to something big for the PS5. Previously, Sony announced that they would not be attending E3 2020, which diverges from their previous strategy of showing off the console at one of the gaming industry’s biggest conventions.

Recently, Sony has stated that they’re more or less going to follow the same rollout schedule for the PS4. This means that we may very well hear some more new information before the month of February is over, although how much information and what else we’ll see is currently a mystery. It’s also possible that the temporary price drop is meant to incentivize sales of the older console when details about the new one are revealed.

We’re sure to hear more about the PS5 soon. In the meantime, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to take advantage of this discounted PS4 Pro price while the sale’s still on — I doubt it will get much lower than $299.99 for quite a while.
