During Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, the company announced PS Vita TV, a shocking new device that allows gamers to play all of their favorite PlayStation Vita games on the television.
The device is tiny and super sleek (see image above) and uses a DualShock 3 as its main control input. As you might expect, the bite-sized gaming machine contains a slot to insert PS Vita games and another slot to insert your memory card.
In addition to playing PS Vita games, this new piece of hardware will support PSone Classics, PSP games, and can even connect to PS4 to allow you to play Vita games through your shiny new console, should you so choose. At some point in the future Sony also promises to roll out an update which will allow you to play PlayStation 4 games via remote play. Pretty nifty, eh?
Oh yeah, and if that weren't enough, PS Vita TV will also support popular streaming services like Hulu. The device will launch in Japan on November 14th at 9,480 yen or $95. However, if you want a DualShock 3 and an 8 GB memory card as well, a special package will instead set you back 14,980 yen or $150. I'm sure it is only a matter of time before it becomes available in the west.
